IMG_2262Today’s P.I.T. workout was a beast, but a good compliment for climbing as it integrated pull ups, core and cardio, all things we need as climbers and boulderers.

The workout consisted of the following:

10 Rounds of:

  • 5 Push up pike on a med ball (50 total)
  • 5 Dumb bell snatch (100 total, 50/side)
  • 5 Strict dead hang pull ups (50 total)

Then 2 rounds of:

  • 10 step ups on a box alternating legs (like skipping, but your front foot goes on top of a 20″ box) 40 total, 20/leg
  • 10 side steps on to the 20″ box (like skipping sideways, but your front foot goes on top of a 20″ box) 40 total, 20/leg
  • 10 each side side plank twist and reach, sample video shown below.

The work out was finished with a one mile run (bummer). I completed the workout in about 25 minutes. Not super fast for some of you, but good for this old dude.

I realized today that I have only had one rest day in the last 10 days, so I think tomorrow I will take it easy and just go bouldering at Truhold!

As I have mentioned in the past, I am not a trainer just a guy who seeks to get fitter and climb harder. If you are unfamiliar with any of these exercises please consult a professional trainer. Good luck!
